Leymah Gbowee Social Impact Award
Tech companies are changing the world, however some of these companies are doing so by tackling humanitarian issues and working with underprivileged communities. This year, a main focus of Arch Summit is to encourage and elevate startups in this space. Our Social Impact competition will give startups with life-changing solutions a platform to voice their solutions to key decision makers that could help accelerate their business.
To inspire these startups, we have invited 2011 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Leymah Gbowee, a Liberian peace activist, social worker, and women’s rights advocate to join us this year at Arch.
Leymah Gbowee is Founder and President of the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa, based in Monrovia. Leymah is best known for leading a nonviolent movement that brought together Christian and Muslim women to play a pivotal role in ending Liberia’s devastating, fourteen-year civil war in 2003. This historic achievement paved the way for the election of Africa’s first female head of state, Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sir leaf. It also marked the vanguard of a new wave of women emerging worldwide as essential and uniquely effective participants in brokering lasting peace and security.
Arch Summit is about gathering entrepreneurs and game-changers from across the globe and bringing them into direct personal contact with the preeminent leaders and innovators of our times. Leymah Gbowee will judge and connect with startups participating in the Social Impact competition and will award the winners.
We want leaders and influencers like Leymah Gbowee to transfer knowledge and inspiration from one generation of established achievers to the next generation of talent, who, in turn, will become leaders in their respective fields.
Showcase your revolutionary technologies to the world leaders this Arch Summit on 3rd and 4th April in Luxembourg. Book your tickets here.
